Michigan International Speedway (MIS) sits in the rural Irish Hills near Brooklyn, Michigan, so public transportation is quite limited. Most race fans drive, arrive by RV, or stay at nearby campgrounds. If you prefer not to drive yourself, you can still reach the track by combining train or bus travel with taxis, rideshare services, or rental cars.
Jackson Amtrak Station – closest to MIS
Jackson is about 22 miles from Michigan International Speedway and is served by Amtrak’s Wolverine line (Chicago – Detroit – Pontiac). From Jackson station, you can continue to the track by taxi, Uber/Lyft, or a rental car. This is the most practical train-based option for getting to MIS without using your own car.
Ann Arbor Amtrak Station
Ann Arbor is around 34 miles from the track and is also served by the Wolverine line. The city offers more frequent rideshare availability and a wider choice of rental car companies. From the station, you can reach MIS by Uber/Lyft, taxi, or a one-day car rental.

There is no regular local bus route directly to Michigan International Speedway, but you can use intercity bus services to reach nearby cities and then continue by car.
Greyhound / FlixBus – Ann Arbor or Jackson
Both Ann Arbor and Jackson have Greyhound or FlixBus stops, depending on the schedule and route. After arriving by bus, you can complete the trip to MIS with Uber/Lyft, a local taxi, or a rental car.
Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) to Ann Arbor
If you fly into Detroit Metro Airport, the Michigan Flyer–AirRide coach connects DTW with downtown Ann Arbor several times a day. From Ann Arbor, you can continue to the Speedway using rideshare or a rental vehicle.
Uber and Lyft are available in Ann Arbor and Jackson and are often the easiest way to get from a train or bus station to MIS. Approximate travel times are:
