A race weekend at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) isn’t just about the on-track action — it’s a full-throttle experience from the moment the gates open. Fans can explore the lively areas around the grandstands, enjoy live entertainment, grab great food from local vendors, and soak up the electric race-day atmosphere that makes MIS one of the most enjoyable stops on the NASCAR calendar. 

Whether you’re coming for the championship drama, the family-friendly activities, or to feel the roar of the cars up close, you’ll find plenty to keep you excited throughout the weekend. Once you’re settled in, you can elevate your visit with optional add-ons that bring you even closer to the heart of the action. Below are the two most popular upgrades that fans choose to enhance their race day experience.

Pre-Race Pass
Add even more excitement to your Sunday with a Pre-Race Pass. This pass gives you close-up access to key pre-race moments, including NASCAR Cup Series Driver Introductions, signing the Start/Finish Line, and access to the Red Carpet. Adults aged 13 and over must purchase a full-price Pre-Race Pass. Youth 12 and under automatically receive free Sunday Pre-Race access courtesy of Henry Ford Health when a Sunday Grandstand Admission is purchased. A valid Grandstand Admission or Infield Wristband is required to enter the Pre-Race area.

Rent a scanner
A scanner rental from Racing Electronics is the perfect way to hear exactly what drivers and crews say during the race. You can listen to team communications in real time or follow the radio broadcast. Options include a single headset, two headsets, or a two-headset intercom unit. Rentals must be purchased in advance, no later than Thursday of race week, as walk-up sales are not permitted at redemption locations. FanVision services are not available. If you’re bringing your own RE scanner or LEGEND device, be sure to check the programming information ahead of time.
